Many of my paintings are based on commonplace images that I have seen over the years in rural Ireland where I live; the garden that my
wife Ita and I maintain at our house and studio also inspires many of
my paintings and provides subject matter for my Still Life paintings.

Although the subject matter of my work is quite varied the central
theme in all these images is light, colour and mood. The techniques
I use and my choice of medium is dictated by the subject. I paint my impression of the subject in such a way that it invites the viewer to
enter this painting; so that they can enjoy the moment in time I have tried to capture, and complete the painting with their own thoughts.
